The first variant of modified traditional duduk, designed by Georgy Minasov, has three valves controlled by metal levers. The upper lever makes it easier to play note D and offers an option to play note E with pressed lips. On traditional duduk, this feature has never been available. On the bottom of the duduk are two more levers that add notes of A, Ab, and G, significantly improving the range over a traditional instrument.
